WE GET WHAT WE BELIEVE

The past couple of days I have come across either a book speaking to beliefs or an article or people sharing about the concept of beliefs.
Yesterday, I heard:
"We don't believe what we say we believe, we really live out what we believe."
How thought provoking, and so true.  What is reflected back to me is what I believe.
Then I read yesterday's daily guide from Science of Mind:
Our beliefs truly do shape our perceptions and our world. We do not get what we think we deserve, but we always get what we believe. If we believe we are entitled to something, we typically create a whole internal narrative to support that idea. If we believe the world is not safe, we will begin to gather evidence to support this theory and then go about building the structures and protection around us to assure our survival.
Or, if we believe we are supported and loved not for any achievement or accomplishment, but because our Divine nature is one of love, creativity and supply, we then make ourselves available for a whole new experience of life. If I accept the premise that I am not alive to compete and battle others, but rather to collaborate and create, I begin to see the world in a whole different light. I start to dismantle my agreements with struggle and open myself to possibility and joyful expectation.
Believing I deserve something without doing the required work to shift my beliefs and behavior to right alignment with that which I desire always creates disappointment. It is always the consciousness beneath the thought that gives it life and form.
To shift any condition in my life, I must start with what I believe about that condition and then engage in the spiritual practices that give birth to newness.  (Excerpt from Science of Mind, August 3rd, 2014)
There is so much opportunity available here to ponder. Ask yourself, what is being reflected back to you that is based on your beliefs?  Is there something showing up that you absolutely appreciate, or don't want?
Search deep inside and spend a few minutes in quiet stillness and ask, how is my belief reflecting back.  Be aware, everything encountered has been created with a conscious or unconscious agreement

You have everything you need readily available to you to appreciate your belief, or to create a new belief, a new perspective.

What belief do you appreciate?
What belief do you want to change?

Enjoy this day, as you believe.

Warmly - Debbie

PURPOSE IS A GUIDING LIGHT . . . . .

"A #2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere." ~ Joyce Myers

I am an avid reader of the Science of Mind magazine. Each message speaks to my heart and soul. Below is one daily reading I want to share with you.
Are you, YES YOU, moving forward with discovering your purpose?  Is your heart and soul nudging you?  Whatever that looks like for you.
Just a quiet little reminder. Enjoy!

Purpose
Sometimes, it is difficult to figure out purpose.  Too often, friends are willing to tell you what they think your purpose is, especially when it serves them. I have found something interesting about purpose: all I need to do is decide what my purpose is and be 180 degrees away from it. Once you set an intention to find your purpose, however, the universe will conspire to guide you. The only thing you can do wrong is to do nothing.
Purpose is a guiding light. You must not forget your purpose, but don't allow your purpose to tether you. Choose a purpose, and don't be attached to having it be the right one. Choose nothing, and the universe knows you are not yet willing to play. (SOM, August 4, 2012)

So, are you playing? or are you not yet willing to play? Share your passion, your purpose below.  . GET IT OUT!.  . Scream it to the world. .  we are waiting to hear your voice. Your soul is waiting for you to play.

BELIEVE IN YOU!

This morning as I was reading, I came across this short gentle reminder.

Notice and realize YOU are the CEO of your life and business and the CFO of your life and business.

Your strength and effectivness increase as you believe in yourself and your ability to grow from the experiences you have in life. Look upon challenges as opportunities to learn and apply your knowledge and your magical touch. ~ Doreen Virtue

CFO Made Easy - First Radio Spot Commercial

I am so EXCITED, this is my first ever radio spot commercial.  It is 30 seconds and it was created for the radio program I was on earlier this week on KKNW, called Conversations that Heal with Susan Jacobi.  A very powerful conversation.

DAILY SEEDS FOR FINANCIAL SUCCESS

This has been an exciting week for me.  I completed creating and launching Daily Seeds for Financial Success.

Boy have I learned a heck of a lot.  I know finances like the back of my hand . . yet when I am learning something new, something I have never done before as an Entrepreneur, it takes forever just to get that new thang accomplished.  Do you find that as well?

First, let me share what Daily Seeds for Financial Success is.  It is a daily inspirational message that you receive 5 days a week and the message is around finances.  One message a day, Monday through Friday.
You receive an inspirational quote, an inquiry posed around (business) finances and then a daily affirmation. The concept, how to encourage, empower and motivate you to work consciously on your finances.  Business or Personal.
I have 28 years of experience in the finance world working with CEO's in privately held companies and I made the decision to start working on achieving my own dreams and get back to being an entrepreneur and support many, many, many CEO's, entrepreneurs and business owners at one time.
Yet know, as you are reading this if you are not an entrepreneur or business owner YOU are the CEO and CFO of your own life.  So this does apply to you as well.  Just remove "business' from finances and there is only finances.  Treat your life, your finances like a business and you too can achieve success.

Back to the story of the creating part . . . so creating Daily Seeds for Financial Success came about last March though my meditation practice and I started writing messages.  Check . . .

FRIDAY'S STORY TO INSPIRE - "TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD"

Today's GREAT inspiring story . . I LOVED it as soon as I read it and thought this is PERFECT to share.  Of course I am always thinking.  . how can I apply inspiring stories around finances . . business and even personal . .

So as you read.  . apply this to how you think about and work with your finances . . this is about shifting your perspective . . look at the positive . . .
Tell me something good  . . .below . . Be inspired to just be with where you are.

Enjoy!

Here is your Friday story,

"Tell Me Something Good"

Many people that work at the hospital know me by the phrase/question: "Tell me something good!" Of course there are many things in this world that are bad; HOWEVER, there are also many, many things in this world that are good.

It took me years before I realized this valuable life's lesson, but I finally learned it! Therefore, I "spread" this message around work at the Harris Healthcare System, mainly at Ben Taub General Hospital on the trauma floor, to patients, families and staff.

On one occasion I called a discharged patient, Barbara, whom I had worked with over a lengthy hospitalization. Every time I would enter her room, I would ask her to "tell me something good!" At first, she did not have any answers because she felt that "nothing was good." However, eventually she started thinking deeply and realized, "Sure, I have many problems, but I also have many positive things. At least I am able to say I woke up."

She became positive and started smiling more and more, as she progressed daily. Eventually, she was discharged from the hospital. After a week, I called her to see how she was doing. Barbara answered the phone and I said, "Hi, this is Mike Segal." I waited for her to respond . . . and waited . . . and waited some more. I heard nothing but breathing on the other end of the phone. I broke the silence by repeating, "This is Mike Segal" and added "from Ben Taub Hospital." I was sure she now would realize who I was; however, again "nothing" but silence on the other end of the phone receiver. Quickly I said, "Tell me something good!"

I could "feel" Barbara's smile as she screamed, "MIKE!" She started yelling out questions and said she was doing very well. Now, it was my turn to smile!

I never know what to expect when I ask that question. One day I walked into a room and saw a patient in his hospital bed with his wife close by in a chair. "Hi, it's Mike. Hello John . . . Hello Sara. John, tell me something good."

I had been working with his wife, mainly in the waiting room, so I had not had much interaction with John, especially since he had been in the ICU, heavily sedated. However, now it was my time to ask my question, "Tell me something good."

John calmly answered, "Peanut Butter."

I started laughing and said, "Yes . . . Peanut Butter is good, but tell me something good ABOUT YOU!"

"I am looking forward to eating a Peanut Butter sandwich."

I continued to laugh as I thought, "At least he is not thinking negatively!"

Yet another patient, Mary, had been in the hospital for many weeks. She was beginning to get somewhat depressed, thinking on more than one occasion "that she would never be discharged from the hospital." I tried to encourage her, having her focus on what was positive in her life: family, friends, improving . . . I told her about one of my favorite books (out of print), which was a collection of positive short stories called, "Focus On The Bagel, Not On The Hole." I explained that, "Sure, there are many bad things in life; however, there are so many great things: Like the bagel!" I always tried to encourage her to "FOCUS ON THE BAGEL!"

One Monday when I walked into Mary's room, I saw her smiling from ear to ear. I quickly asked, "Mary, tell me something good." She hurriedly replied, "Mike, the doctor said maybe I could go home at the end of the week!"

I jumped back in, asking, "So what's the first thing you're going to do when you get home?"

Mary calmly smiled and said, "I'm going to eat a bagel . . . with Philadelphia cream cheese spread over and blocking the hole!"

I laughed, but realized how far she had come - both physically and emotionally. Sure, life can hurt, but Mary taught me that with a positive attitude, plus the Philadelphia cream cheese, most things are possible!

Video - Debbie Sharing a Few Thoughts Job vs Entrepreneurship

The last three days I was at a conference / workshop with Kyle Cease in Universal City, CA.  Transformative . . seriously transformative.  Why . . he spoke to and demonstrated in each moment, during those three days living life in the flow and letting go of "shit", such as fear, frustration, overwhelm.  The time spent was hilarious and has a heart hitting impact.

"Yeah, give me a break, how can anyone do that" . .I hear fear talking . . . I DON'T CARE . . . it is possible  . . I just practice everyday . . it''s called going with the flow of life . .going with what shows up.
Hopping on a surf board . . paddling out to the wave and then . . the wave catches me on the board and I am riding the wave of life . . . trusting and allowing what shows up is exactly what I need in that moment and going with it . . I did that this weekend . . and life just flowed.
I also did it last fall going to an event in Yosemite, and volunteered to pick up 5 strangers all throughout the San Francisco Bay area and everything just flowed with ease . . I was in action and I listened to my intuition . . ideas came up in my head and I checked it out . . I knew when action flowed . . I was on the right path . . those 5 strangers are now life friends.
So this morning as I was working out at the gym, I started thinking. . why is it so easy for me to get a "job" versus making it hard to be an entrepreneur. I am really good at "getting a job" talking one on one and making a difference in 1 CEO's life with his/her company.  . for a steady weekly or bi-weekly paycheck.  Yet my passion is to work with hundreds and thousands of entrepreneurs making a difference for them and their businesse.
I see and feel my passion and I feel it in my heart, I am on the right wave . . working with business owners and finances is so needed . . I love making a difference and seeing the impact in people's eyes . . there is something deep inside that is calling me.  .
So why do I make it hard creating an income as an entrepreneur.  Why do I struggle with making a difference and being paid for it directly.  Do any of you have that same thought?
I recorded my thoughts on a video this morning after I worked out. This last weekend I made a commitment to Kyle Cease and the group I would Kylego for the next 90 days and record it on video. If I do not follow through the pain point is I would donate $10k to the NRA.  Why the "NRA" because I despise guns.  My son committed suicide in December 2008 with a gun. (yes I get it that was his choice, this is NOT a place for a gun debate)
I am on day two. . and this short clip is just something I wanted to share as there may be a few of you that have the same thought playing in your head.

What does this have to do with finances . . . this has to do with commitment to invest in self, and business . I process my deeper thoughts to see the gift, to help me grow, transform and move forward in action. See, I have this deep desire to have an impact and make a difference in entrepreneurs and business owners lives.  I know YOU too, want to make a difference in peoples lives.
How do you transform and move forward in action? I would love to hear you share how you support yourself with growth and transformation for you and your business.

Enjoy!

FRIDAY'S STORY TO INSPIRE - Revolutionize Your Life

Happy Friday!!  Today's share is full . . . hit me in the heart . . with impact for several reasons.
I shiver when I hear children have been abused and bullied.  Second, how one person can make a difference in a childs life . . actually in any life.
Read, reflect and ponder how YOU are able to revolutionize your life and your business.

Enjoy and grow!

Revolutionize Your Life

There they were two lost little children, arriving at a fork in the road. Coming from a road of confusion two lives with little meaning. How can we function from a heart with no emotion - a lost soul?? Never experiencing the power of expression due to rejection left them unable to adapt in a world that was just too big and powerful. No emotion, no social skills, and no familiarity on how to function in unfamiliar territory. Their stories depict abandonment, abuse, and bullying.

Both children experienced bullying to the extent of death threats and removal from the school system. It was so severe they had to be home schooled for the remainder of this year and arrangements for a totally different school next year. The victims are socially quiet, but have outstanding qualities (good values, intellectual, well-behaved). Is this the reason they are targeted and how does one of this age emotionally and physically adapt to the abuse? Are parents fully aware of what their children are doing? Is your child the victim or the bully do you know?

One of the children also experienced abuse and abandonment from home. Having a parent physically harm you then give you away in the young years of life would leave you with a sense of distrust and result in lack of emotion. You are supposed to be able to speak to the one who should love you the most without verbal or physical altercation. So, whether we are an adult or a child, we all need to light the fire in our hearts.

We took the children in and continually make attempts to change the way they were programmed. Utilizing NLP (Neuro Linguistics Programming), hypnosis, life coaching tools and techniques and incorporating entrepreneurial skills; then striving to reprogram their subconscious minds, we continually progress. But, how do we teach love, hope, and emotions after thirteen years? When they first came there was no hugging, no kissing, and sadly enough no laughter. After one year of teaching the power of the subconscious mind, dreaming/visioneering, goal setting, and actually discovering skill sets we are on the road to recovery. One child is very artistic so I purchased a program on how to become a cartoonist. The child is not only learning how to sketch properly, but I am teaching ways to create income. I discovered MANY talents within the child and by doing so; provide awareness to their potential. I am continually implementing techniques to teach the power of emotion that was missed as a small child.

After many, long months of teaching, I had to go on a business trip. Upon departure I gave both of the children a hug and kiss (as I always do), with the anticipated simulation of what I normally receive, when all of a sudden it was there. An embrace of the heart, a kiss with meaning, and a genuine 'I'll miss you' look.

Whether it's an adult or a child, never give up hope on reconditioning of beliefs, creating emotion, and establishing a life with new meaning new beginnings. It's never too late if you care and when you give without expecting to receive something in return, the rewards are beyond your imagination. The look in someone's eyes and the warmth of their heart when you've made a difference in their life will definitely change yours.

THE DEFINITION OF INSANITY

You have heard this before, right?  The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.

So here we are, six days into 2012.  The truth is that every minute of every day is an opportunity to "begin again".  It is filled with new opportunities to think differently and to be different.  You don't have to repeat the past.  Stop.  . . right now . . YES, right now and take a deep breath.
So I ask . . what do you need?  What do you need right now to say ok . . I am going to do this.  I am committed to organizing my business finances.

Steps I have shared so far to get you on the road, keep personal finances and business finances separate.  Open a business checking and savings account. Apply for a credit card in your business name.
A word of caution, DO NOT, comingle personal funds with business funds.  It leaves room for the IRS to disallow an expense for your business if you are even audited.

Next step, separate income receipts, and expense receipts.  Income is the revenue your business earns and the expenses are what you spend money on to maintain your business.
Now let's get your revenue and expenses organized.
Find and setup a system that is easy to use and maintain.  Setting up a system properly is the key to keeping it simple and easy.
I use and recommend QuickBooks, it is easy and a simple system.  Yes, there are other simple systems, you just have to find one that works best for you and that will provide support.  Support is key.

Step one setup for QuickBooks -
Start by creating the chart of accounts for your business.  A chart of accounts is like a story book of the financial events that occur in your business.
The benefit of of having a Chart of Accounts is tracking revenue and expenses.  You will learn and see which products and services are generating the most or least revenue and expenses tell you where you are spending the least and most of money on your business.
Example - If your business has several different products or services, you can set up the Chart of Accounts to reflect as much detail as you want.
Let me give you a couple of samples from businesses that I work with -

Retail business - cards, clothing, gifts, jewelry.
Gym business - Memberships, Single, joint, family, tanning, Key cards, etc.
Service business that offers products, coaching, product #1, product #2, etc.

Your easy homework assignment - create a list of products and or services that you offer and that you want to track.  We will use this information for creating a chart of accountsfor your business.

Next week, I will cover examples of expenses.
One last tip for today - when you create a deposit, photo copy the deposit slip and checks to keep track of all money coming in.
The benefit, having the backup/support for each deposit allows you to go back and see the actual deposit if your account does not balance at the end of the month.
Repeat after me "Cash is KING" and you want to track cash accurately.
Have a PASSIONATE filled weekend and I will connect with you next week.

New Programs to Support you Build a Solid Financial Foundation

A few words of wisdom I read this morning -

Our human journey is all about facing our challenges and moving through them faithfully instead of being paralyzed by fear.  There is no shame in experiencing challenges or going through periods of confusion and uncertainty. But Remember - you are not supposed to stay there.
I love reading inspiring messages that remind me I am on a human journey. Sometimes I just get caught up in not understanding something or I am experiencing overwhelm.  What a gentle reminder to guide me on my daily path, that it is ok to have challenges and be confused.  As I read this I also thought of you.
So how may this message apply around finances?
First, face where you are, honor and acknowledge the challenge you hold around organizing your finances and move faithfully by taking one step toward creating a solid organized financial foundation for the heart of your business.
So how can you do this with guided support?
Over the next couple of weeks I will be offering new CFO Made Easy programs that will support you with building that solid organized foundation.
What do these programs look like?
Well, to start off 2012, I will be offering a 5 week home-study course on setting up QuickBooks for your business.  There will be videos with me walking you thru each step of the set up, bank accounts, credit card account, chart of Accounts to reconciling your bank account, setting up items, customers and invoices.  Setting up Vendors, payables and writing checks and running important reports so you can see the financial progress of your business.
A step by step process that you will have in front of you.  A QuickBooks instruction video to follow along as you set up your business QuickBooks.  Two windows on your computer, side by side.  How easy is that?
There is value in consistency, so you will practice each day, with me right by your side, walking you thru the how to' on the video, and you will see and feel you confidence soar each step of the way.
Next, I will open a community membership site for you to join interact with and participate in bi-weekly Q&A strategy sessions.
And then there is the FREEDOM program.  The acronym represents;
Financial Foundation
Revenue Tracking Map
Expense Tracking Map
Easy Profit and Loss
Daily Cash Management Tracking
Opportunity to Plan Cash Flow.
Monthly Trailing Map - that tracks the progress of businesses who have been operating for more than 12 months.
For the next several days I will share with you pieces of the home-study program and the FREEDOM program and the positive impact of creating a solid organized financial foundation.
