DAILY SEEDS FOR FINANCIAL SUCCESS

This has been an exciting week for me.  I completed creating and launching Daily Seeds for Financial Success.

Boy have I learned a heck of a lot.  I know finances like the back of my hand . . yet when I am learning something new, something I have never done before as an Entrepreneur, it takes forever just to get that new thang accomplished.  Do you find that as well?

First, let me share what Daily Seeds for Financial Success is.  It is a daily inspirational message that you receive 5 days a week and the message is around finances.  One message a day, Monday through Friday.
You receive an inspirational quote, an inquiry posed around (business) finances and then a daily affirmation. The concept, how to encourage, empower and motivate you to work consciously on your finances.  Business or Personal.
I have 28 years of experience in the finance world working with CEO's in privately held companies and I made the decision to start working on achieving my own dreams and get back to being an entrepreneur and support many, many, many CEO's, entrepreneurs and business owners at one time.
Yet know, as you are reading this if you are not an entrepreneur or business owner YOU are the CEO and CFO of your own life.  So this does apply to you as well.  Just remove "business' from finances and there is only finances.  Treat your life, your finances like a business and you too can achieve success.

Back to the story of the creating part . . . so creating Daily Seeds for Financial Success came about last March though my meditation practice and I started writing messages.  Check . . .
Next I learned about what it would take to launch Daily Seeds for Financial Success . .

BOW TO REVENUE PROJECTIONS

Happy Friday !!  It's been an exciting week . . .

I received a phone call the other night from a client I have been working with since December.  She was so excited . . first she thanked me for asking her the question "when are you implementing?" then she continued to share she signed a new contract with a former client at her new pricing structure.
I am THRILLED for her, to see her achieve her DREAMS.. . and as I shared with her.  . we did the work to create the model, (the motivator), she set the intention of what she wanted, then lead the direction and the path she wanted to go.  The end result, she is tripling her income in 2012.  This is no small feat.  This is HUGE, close to 7 figures HUGE.
How cool is that???
What did we do you ask?  We created revenue projections for 2012.

First step - we determined her products, prices and units.  Each product had its own separate line on the model, with price and then units by month. In this case the units were hours.  She is a service provider and there are so many hours in a day, so you calculate the number of hours you are willing to work each day, multiply it out by the number of days you work in a week and then how many weeks in a month.  Make sure to adjust for the weeks and months you take off for conferences, vacation and holidays. Yes, you can plan your time off and see the impact right there. No guessing or waiting.  Make sense?
Now it's not only to calculate the numbers, this is used to create a conversation around, how much do I want to spend in a day working with clients, what am I charging, do I want to explore with charging a higher rate?  Do I want to make more money, hmmmm, what will that take? What would that look like?  What is needed so I feel good and confident?
Once you have inserted the criteria, next step is to implement the services, sell the new products and compare actual numbers to projections to confirm you are on target, going way beyond target, or missing the mark totally.
It's about seeing where you have been (past), where you are now (current), and projecting out where you want to go (future).  Revenue projections is one tool for creating a solid, organized financial foundation for your business.
And you know what, this is what I do and I want you to as well. I passionately support YOU the CEO's, entrepreneurs and business owners with achieving your DREAMS through numbers, in a bottom line kind of way, (pun intended) this is for the success of your business and for the success of cash flow.
Get on board with playing, exploring and having fun with creating revenue projections for the dream you hold for your business.  I have the tools for you already mapped out and the 28 years of experience supporting CEO's of privately held companies achieve their PASSIONATE dreams.
Reach out, connect and say Debbie I want to create my revenue projections with you to see my dreams come true. You may reach me at d.rosenfelt@cfomadeeasy.com

Have a great weekend and I look forward to connecting with you next week.

FRIDAY'S STORY TO INSPIRE - "TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD"

Today's GREAT inspiring story . . I LOVED it as soon as I read it and thought this is PERFECT to share.  Of course I am always thinking.  . how can I apply inspiring stories around finances . . business and even personal . .

So as you read.  . apply this to how you think about and work with your finances . . this is about shifting your perspective . . look at the positive . . .
Tell me something good  . . .below . . Be inspired to just be with where you are.

Enjoy!

Here is your Friday story,

"Tell Me Something Good"

Many people that work at the hospital know me by the phrase/question: "Tell me something good!" Of course there are many things in this world that are bad; HOWEVER, there are also many, many things in this world that are good.

It took me years before I realized this valuable life's lesson, but I finally learned it! Therefore, I "spread" this message around work at the Harris Healthcare System, mainly at Ben Taub General Hospital on the trauma floor, to patients, families and staff.

On one occasion I called a discharged patient, Barbara, whom I had worked with over a lengthy hospitalization. Every time I would enter her room, I would ask her to "tell me something good!" At first, she did not have any answers because she felt that "nothing was good." However, eventually she started thinking deeply and realized, "Sure, I have many problems, but I also have many positive things. At least I am able to say I woke up."

She became positive and started smiling more and more, as she progressed daily. Eventually, she was discharged from the hospital. After a week, I called her to see how she was doing. Barbara answered the phone and I said, "Hi, this is Mike Segal." I waited for her to respond . . . and waited . . . and waited some more. I heard nothing but breathing on the other end of the phone. I broke the silence by repeating, "This is Mike Segal" and added "from Ben Taub Hospital." I was sure she now would realize who I was; however, again "nothing" but silence on the other end of the phone receiver. Quickly I said, "Tell me something good!"

I could "feel" Barbara's smile as she screamed, "MIKE!" She started yelling out questions and said she was doing very well. Now, it was my turn to smile!

I never know what to expect when I ask that question. One day I walked into a room and saw a patient in his hospital bed with his wife close by in a chair. "Hi, it's Mike. Hello John . . . Hello Sara. John, tell me something good."

I had been working with his wife, mainly in the waiting room, so I had not had much interaction with John, especially since he had been in the ICU, heavily sedated. However, now it was my time to ask my question, "Tell me something good."

John calmly answered, "Peanut Butter."

I started laughing and said, "Yes . . . Peanut Butter is good, but tell me something good ABOUT YOU!"

"I am looking forward to eating a Peanut Butter sandwich."

I continued to laugh as I thought, "At least he is not thinking negatively!"

Yet another patient, Mary, had been in the hospital for many weeks. She was beginning to get somewhat depressed, thinking on more than one occasion "that she would never be discharged from the hospital." I tried to encourage her, having her focus on what was positive in her life: family, friends, improving . . . I told her about one of my favorite books (out of print), which was a collection of positive short stories called, "Focus On The Bagel, Not On The Hole." I explained that, "Sure, there are many bad things in life; however, there are so many great things: Like the bagel!" I always tried to encourage her to "FOCUS ON THE BAGEL!"

One Monday when I walked into Mary's room, I saw her smiling from ear to ear. I quickly asked, "Mary, tell me something good." She hurriedly replied, "Mike, the doctor said maybe I could go home at the end of the week!"

I jumped back in, asking, "So what's the first thing you're going to do when you get home?"

Mary calmly smiled and said, "I'm going to eat a bagel . . . with Philadelphia cream cheese spread over and blocking the hole!"

I laughed, but realized how far she had come - both physically and emotionally. Sure, life can hurt, but Mary taught me that with a positive attitude, plus the Philadelphia cream cheese, most things are possible!

CFO 411 - WA Dept of Revenue Audit - Are You Prepared for an Audit?

Last weekend I began preparing for an audit that was scheduled for Tuesday with the WA State Dept of Revenue.  This was for the gym business my son owns, also my business partner.  I was told by John Hamilton, the auditor the business was randomly chosen for this audit.  There are times that businesses are manually chosen.  In this case we were just one of the computer sample test businesses chosen.
I was told the audit is to make sure we paid WA State use tax on all assets purchased for use in the business as well as confirm we are paying the correct tax on memberships, products, and services, such as personal training, tanning, etc.
The audit began with the first month of business which was February 2008 through the first quarter 2012.
I was ready.  I audited all the monthly reports before the auditor did to make sure we were taking the promo referral fees as a deduction for excise and sales tax, water sales deducted from retail sales and sales tax was being paid correctly.
In addition Iwas informed he would review all the purchase of assets of the business to make sure use tax was paid.  I trusted we handled it properly.
The findings . . . we did not pay sales tax on four asset items.  The asset purchases were on items made outside the state of WA.  We will receive an assessment around the end of June and the gym will owe approximately $2k in use tax from 2008 from assets purchased.  All other sales tax testing was in good order.
This was a good experience, I learned a lot and the audit went smoothly.  I had all the receipts for the asset purchases that showed what we did pay sales tax on and what we did not. I presented them to John, he checked it off his list, or wrote a comment "use tax owed".
The lesson  . .
1). Create a solid organized financial foundation so when you receive a letter from the state or IRS you will be prepared immediately for the audit and you will be able to show your receipts.
2.) Make sure to have all of your asset receipts on file, titled and organized by year.  Electronically or paper.  This will provide the support you need when they ask for the receipts.
3.) Organize all of your invoice and sales receipts by month, by year.
4.) Keep all Dept of Revenue reports and payments by year in a folder.
5.) Audit your records or have your bookkeeper audit your records and review them quarterly.  Less surprises along the way.
6.) Do not panic . . the auditor is there to perform their job, they are just like you and I .. human and need to get the work done.  In my case the audit was quite pleasant and I asked questions and learned a lot.  The audit is based on the rules of the state legislature that was voted in by your representatives.
7.) make sure you have cash stashed in the savings for times when you owe past tax so you do not have to scramble to figure out how you are going to pay the tax bill.
Are you ready for an audit?  Use the above tips to set yourself up for success.
Questions, comments, leave them below or e-mail me at d.rosenfelt@cfomadeeasy.com.

Friday's Story to Inspire - Making A Difference

Today's story speaks to how a young boy took a small step, a little idea that served his country. This idea of his reflects commitment, dedication and love and purpose.

As you read this story, I wonder how does this story speaks to you.  I wander if you feel it in your heart that inspires you to take a step forward in serving purpose.
Enjoy Friday's story.
Man grows 1,360-acre forest in India...by himself
A man in India single-handedly planted an entire forest, proving that one person really can make a large difference.

You always hear that one person can make a large difference in the world. Today, we've got a story that proves that saying.
When he was a teenager in Northern India's Assam region about 30 years ago, Jadav "Molai" Payeng began planting seeds in a sandbar near his birthplace. A few years later, he moved into the area and turned the seed-planting and tree-nurturing into his life's work, planting seeds and helping them grow over a wide area that was initially left for desolate.

In the past 30 years, his seed-planting endeavors have resulted in a massive, 1,360-acre jungle in Assam, a forest ecosystem that has left an incredible mark on the Indian landscape and stands as a testament to Payeng's dedication.

Initially, the forest department told Payeng that trees could not grow in that area. He was not dissuaded; instead he dedicated himself to the task of nurturing the forest, and his dedication has produced results. The Molai woods, in addition to being covered with lush greenery, is now home to a whole host of creatures big and small, including birds, deers, rhinos, tigers, and elephants.

Jadav "Molai" Payeng is a hero to those animals, to the ecosystem in the area, and to conservationists across India. But he is also a hero to us, people living oceans away who don't necessarily work in forestry or in the environment industry. Payeng is a hero because he has proven that with commitment, blood, sweat, knowledge, and dedication to making a difference, one person can truly make a difference, and a large difference, on the world.

It's easy to discount the impact that we can have on the people and places around us. It's easy to feel insignificant when faced with the enormity of the issues that surround us. But it's important to remember that our actions, no matter how small they may be, make a difference. Whether it's bringing a smile to someone's day or revitalizing a forest ecosystem, the little acts of kindness and good have enormous impact.

Our small actions may not necessarily lead to a forest and safe haven for animals, but they have the potential to grow and flourish all the same.

To share with you my purpose . . I LOVE my work . . I love working with CEO's, entrepreneurs and business owners.  Did you know that you are all one in the same? J You just don't see it.  I do and I am fascinated to hear each person's story of how each person started their business.

I have worked with many large multi-million dollar businesses as their Controller and CFO.  In 2007 I started my business to share my knowledge with entrepreneurs so they too can have their own CFO (Chief Financial Officer).  Yes t a CFO is ust a title . . however there is vast knowledge in knowing and understanding business finances.

How to manage cash flow, in Great times and very tough down times.  How to grow your business by creating revenue projections so you can see your dreams through numbers.

Revenue projections serve many purposes, it allows you to project and see when you offer is profitable, it allows you to see if you are charging the right price, it allows you to see what revenue would look like with increasing your price.  You are able to calculate "how many hours do I need to spend on generating this revenue.  Where there is only 24 hours in a day and you projected an unrealistic # of hours (units) in this case that you cannot fulfill . . how are you going to make it work?

I see so many AHHA's business owners have when they take the leap with revenue projections.

How are you managing your cash?  You're not?  WHY? This is so critical for every single business.  I DON"T CARE that you are a small business . . YOU need to know this . . it is critical.  It is about training your mind and beliefs in you.  When your business grows to a millon $, and your not tracking your cash . . how do you expect yourself to get caught up in learning when you are so busy running a million dollar business?

Here is an inquiry - if you had 30 minutes to ask me 3 critical, valuable questions that would support you with your business, what would you ask?

Here is your opportunity.  Leave your questions below, or e-mail me at d.rosenfelt@cfomadeeasy.com or schedule a 30 minute complimentary finance strategy call.  I promise you will be heard.

My purpose with CFO Made Easy. . cultivate attention and awareness around business finances with an open heart and non-judgmental approach.

Video - Debbie Sharing a Few Thoughts Job vs Entrepreneurship

The last three days I was at a conference / workshop with Kyle Cease in Universal City, CA.  Transformative . . seriously transformative.  Why . . he spoke to and demonstrated in each moment, during those three days living life in the flow and letting go of "shit", such as fear, frustration, overwhelm.  The time spent was hilarious and has a heart hitting impact.

"Yeah, give me a break, how can anyone do that" . .I hear fear talking . . . I DON'T CARE . . . it is possible  . . I just practice everyday . . it''s called going with the flow of life . .going with what shows up.
Hopping on a surf board . . paddling out to the wave and then . . the wave catches me on the board and I am riding the wave of life . . . trusting and allowing what shows up is exactly what I need in that moment and going with it . . I did that this weekend . . and life just flowed.
I also did it last fall going to an event in Yosemite, and volunteered to pick up 5 strangers all throughout the San Francisco Bay area and everything just flowed with ease . . I was in action and I listened to my intuition . . ideas came up in my head and I checked it out . . I knew when action flowed . . I was on the right path . . those 5 strangers are now life friends.
So this morning as I was working out at the gym, I started thinking. . why is it so easy for me to get a "job" versus making it hard to be an entrepreneur. I am really good at "getting a job" talking one on one and making a difference in 1 CEO's life with his/her company.  . for a steady weekly or bi-weekly paycheck.  Yet my passion is to work with hundreds and thousands of entrepreneurs making a difference for them and their businesse.
I see and feel my passion and I feel it in my heart, I am on the right wave . . working with business owners and finances is so needed . . I love making a difference and seeing the impact in people's eyes . . there is something deep inside that is calling me.  .
So why do I make it hard creating an income as an entrepreneur.  Why do I struggle with making a difference and being paid for it directly.  Do any of you have that same thought?
I recorded my thoughts on a video this morning after I worked out. This last weekend I made a commitment to Kyle Cease and the group I would Kylego for the next 90 days and record it on video. If I do not follow through the pain point is I would donate $10k to the NRA.  Why the "NRA" because I despise guns.  My son committed suicide in December 2008 with a gun. (yes I get it that was his choice, this is NOT a place for a gun debate)
I am on day two. . and this short clip is just something I wanted to share as there may be a few of you that have the same thought playing in your head.

What does this have to do with finances . . . this has to do with commitment to invest in self, and business . I process my deeper thoughts to see the gift, to help me grow, transform and move forward in action. See, I have this deep desire to have an impact and make a difference in entrepreneurs and business owners lives.  I know YOU too, want to make a difference in peoples lives.
How do you transform and move forward in action? I would love to hear you share how you support yourself with growth and transformation for you and your business.

Enjoy!

CULTIVATING A FRESH PERSPECTIVE - Managing Business Finances

Recently I was given another copy of the "Seven Spiritual Laws of Success" by Deepak Chopra.

Law #4 is the Law of Least Effort.
I noticed as I was reading the "Law of Least Effort"  I felt a knowing, a settling into a feeling of familiarity that I have experienced the law of least effort many times. then I thought . . . oooohhh. .  the law of least effort certainly does apply to managing business finances . .
This is not so much about "doing it", it is about a place of "being" a deeper underlying message.  So I invite you to STOP for a moment, read and hear what is possible with the "law of least effort:.
Deepak shares - "The Law of Least Effort is based on the fact that natures intelligence functions with effortless ease and abandoned carefreeness.  This is the principle of least action, of no resistance.  This is, therefore, the principle of harmony and love.  When we learn this lesson from nature, we easily fulfill our desires.
If you observe nature at work, you will see that least effort is expended.  Grass doesn't try to grow, it just grows. Fish don't try to swim, they just swim. Flowers don't try to bloom, they bloom.  Birds don't try to fly, they fly. this is their intrinsic nature . . .
And it is human nature to make our dreams manifest into physical form, easily and effortlessly.
Natures intelligence functions effortlessly, frictionlessly, spontaneously. It is non-linear, it is intuitive, holistic and nourishing.  And when you are in harmony with nature, when you are established in the knowledge of true self, you can use of the law of least effort."
Whenever you seek power and control, you waste energy. Did you know that fear, frustration and overwhelm comes from our thoughts of "we do not have control" . . those thoughts take up a lot of energy and are a waste of pure energy.  .
So today, on this gorgeous Saturday (at least it is in the Pacific NW, Edmonds, WA) spend time in nature and notice how birds just fly . . . effortlessly.  Flowers just bloom effortlessly, and grass is growing effortlessly. . . .
and ask yourself, what would I need to calm my mind and allow the law of least effort to guide me with stepping forward and taking action with making a commitment to self . .dare to dream how to see what you dream for your business through numbers.  YES . . dream what would it be like to see a solid organized financial foundation for your business with effortless ease.
There is something that has stopped you and keeps stopping you from moving forward . . . let it (fear, frustration, overwhelm) all go . . the law of least effort tells you anything is easy.  .
what ever thought you hold in your mind . . know it is true . . when you think it is easy. .  your right .  . when you think it is hard… you are right
The law of least effort is easy when we allow it to be..  .
Managing your business finances is easy . . when you allow it to be . .
I am here to help you, guide you and make it safe for you. .  . I promise.  when you see what is possible for your business through numbers you will ask yourself.  . . WOW. .  I had no idea this was possible.
Schedule a complimentary 30 minute finance call to learn and test out how safe it would be to develop a fresh perspective on how to build a solid financial foundation.
Enjoy being with nature!

FRIDAY'S STORY TO INSPIRE - Revolutionize Your Life

Happy Friday!!  Today's share is full . . . hit me in the heart . . with impact for several reasons.
I shiver when I hear children have been abused and bullied.  Second, how one person can make a difference in a childs life . . actually in any life.
Read, reflect and ponder how YOU are able to revolutionize your life and your business.

Enjoy and grow!

Revolutionize Your Life

There they were two lost little children, arriving at a fork in the road. Coming from a road of confusion two lives with little meaning. How can we function from a heart with no emotion - a lost soul?? Never experiencing the power of expression due to rejection left them unable to adapt in a world that was just too big and powerful. No emotion, no social skills, and no familiarity on how to function in unfamiliar territory. Their stories depict abandonment, abuse, and bullying.

Both children experienced bullying to the extent of death threats and removal from the school system. It was so severe they had to be home schooled for the remainder of this year and arrangements for a totally different school next year. The victims are socially quiet, but have outstanding qualities (good values, intellectual, well-behaved). Is this the reason they are targeted and how does one of this age emotionally and physically adapt to the abuse? Are parents fully aware of what their children are doing? Is your child the victim or the bully do you know?

One of the children also experienced abuse and abandonment from home. Having a parent physically harm you then give you away in the young years of life would leave you with a sense of distrust and result in lack of emotion. You are supposed to be able to speak to the one who should love you the most without verbal or physical altercation. So, whether we are an adult or a child, we all need to light the fire in our hearts.

We took the children in and continually make attempts to change the way they were programmed. Utilizing NLP (Neuro Linguistics Programming), hypnosis, life coaching tools and techniques and incorporating entrepreneurial skills; then striving to reprogram their subconscious minds, we continually progress. But, how do we teach love, hope, and emotions after thirteen years? When they first came there was no hugging, no kissing, and sadly enough no laughter. After one year of teaching the power of the subconscious mind, dreaming/visioneering, goal setting, and actually discovering skill sets we are on the road to recovery. One child is very artistic so I purchased a program on how to become a cartoonist. The child is not only learning how to sketch properly, but I am teaching ways to create income. I discovered MANY talents within the child and by doing so; provide awareness to their potential. I am continually implementing techniques to teach the power of emotion that was missed as a small child.

After many, long months of teaching, I had to go on a business trip. Upon departure I gave both of the children a hug and kiss (as I always do), with the anticipated simulation of what I normally receive, when all of a sudden it was there. An embrace of the heart, a kiss with meaning, and a genuine 'I'll miss you' look.

Whether it's an adult or a child, never give up hope on reconditioning of beliefs, creating emotion, and establishing a life with new meaning new beginnings. It's never too late if you care and when you give without expecting to receive something in return, the rewards are beyond your imagination. The look in someone's eyes and the warmth of their heart when you've made a difference in their life will definitely change yours.

Peggy recently wrote a book, Revolutionize Your Life (Foreword by Bob Proctor), which teaches the power of the subconscious mind, combined with the law of attraction, and incorporated the professional side of life to assist you in discovering your skill sets, affiliate programs, network marketing, and creating multiple sources of income. FRIDAY'S STORY TO INSPIRE - A MENTOR'S PUSH

Today's story to inspire is a reminder that there are times we need a kick in the butt to do "it" (whatever it is) differently.  Certainly it doesn't feel good, yet see the gift in the push.
The push challenges us, feels uncomfortable, and builds courage and confidence. As you read today's very inspiring story ask, Where do you need the push when it comes to your business finances.  What's the act of courage you can take around business finances?  What is needed to build your confidence with creating a solid organized financial foundation.

The stories I share each Friday are to make you think and YES I tie it to finances, as that is what I breathe everyday to hold CEO's and business owners accountable with their finances.

Enjoy Friday's story to inspire.

Push

"How are you feeling?" asked my friendly neurosurgeon Dr. Alex Gol as I lay in my hospital bed in the rehab hospital at 3:30 P.M. after a torturous day in therapy. I could not yet utter a single word after sustaining a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI) at the age of 19. So I nodded as if to say, "OK." Dr. Gol then calmly replied, "That's nice," and quickly left the room with a smile.

As he was leaving I thought to myself, "Dr. Gol...so nice...so calm...so peaceful." I tried to reposition myself in my bed as the door closed behind him in order to get more comfortable, but something was not "right" in the hospital hallway as I heard a great commotion coming from there. (True, I could not yet speak; however, nothing was wrong with my hearing and there was plenty of screaming coming from the hall.) I wondered, "What was the problem?"

I soon found out the cause of the chaos: it was sweet, serene and calm Dr. Gol who was causing it.

As soon as he left my room he erupted: "WHO'S THE NURSE TAKING CARE OF MIKE? WHAT'S HE DOING IN BED SO EARLY? HE'S A 19 YEAR OLD VICTIM OF TBI, NOT A 95 YEAR OLD STROKE VICTIM! GET HIM OUT OF THAT BED, AND I DON'T WANT HIM BACK IN BED UNTIL HE GOES TO SLEEP!"

The nurses had never seen Dr. Gol act like that. In fact, they had never heard him raise his voice. They quickly got me out of bed and put me in my wheelchair until 9 P.M.

I was miserable. I wanted to get back into my comfortable bed - well, it was not so comfortable but it was much less uncomfortable than my wheelchair or any kind of chair, for that matter.

As I said, after therapy was over at 3 P.M. I wanted to get straight back in bed; however, throughout the following weeks and months the nurses did not want to face "the wrath of Dr. Gol." Therefore, after therapy I remained in my wheelchair in my room until I went to sleep. Being in the wheelchair for so long was agonizing!

I hated Dr. Gol after that eventful day when he asked me that seemingly simple question while I was trying to relax in bed. However, years later I loved him as I realized Dr. Gol was only doing what was in my best interest.

When I returned to college after being out for so long, my professors, after learning what had happened to me and realizing that I could no longer read as quickly as before I was hurt, were more than happy to say, "Mike, it's ok. Just read what you can and we'll test you on that material." However, one professor did not say that. Dr. Sheldon Ekland-Olson, a sociology professor, said, "Mike, I understand you have difficulty reading. I've had many students with many visual problems. For those students, I refer them to "Recording for the Blind." They have access to many textbooks on cassettes. Here's the phone number..."

I "hated" that statement as I wanted to take the "easy way out." (My feelings of "hate" were very similar to those I had for Dr. Gol on that eventful afternoon in the hospital.) However, I have since learned that the "easy way" is quite often the "wrong way."

Sometimes everyone needs a "push." Even I, recently, had to be reminded to push myself as I had gotten "lazy" at the gym. However, a "stranger" reminded me to use my right hand. Even though it was difficult, I thanked him for the reminder.

I have learned that the difficult things in life are often the sweet things in life. One cannot experience "beauty" without experiencing "bitterness." Remember, "push" yourself to "get through the thorns of the rose bush, to experience the beautiful flower of the rose."

Every time I think of some difficult thing in life, I close my eyes, see Dr. Gol, and smile.

FRIDAY'S STORY TO INSPIRE - ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT

Friday's story reminds me of our inner critic on one shoulder and our mentor on the other.  Read, share and inspire and share.  You and I love to have support by our friends, family and colleagues to move through, take that one step forward, YOU CAN DO IT!! support and encouragement.

How may this be used with your business finances . . create the support you need to take steps forward to see your dreams come true through numbers.  Ask for support to hold you accountable to get the weekly receipts for revenue and expenses into QuickBooks.

SURROUND yourself with support, a team you have built and created, a mastermind group, or even CFO Made Easy.
What may support look like for you?  Honor where you are, without making yourself wrong,  Be with the frustration, fear, overwhelm or whatever feeling you hold around finances.  When we honor and trust we are exactly where we are meant to be, we move through the emotion and see what is possible.

Enjoy Fridays story.

From the files of Bob Proctor -

Many years ago a young lady who was attending a seminar shared an interesting story with me. Apparently she and two or three of her girlfriends went and tried out for a place in a stage play. She got the starring role while her girlfriends were not even picked for the supporting cast. Opening night she said she was really excited but afterwards became very disappointed when her girlfriends never came out and supported her. She was explaining the situation to an elderly friend of her fathers named Hap. He wrote her a letter and she gave me a copy with her permission to share it with others. Read it carefully and think.

Dear Ann,

Once upon a time there was a fellow by the name of Al Capp who wrote a comic strip called "L'll Abner." Many years ago he had some characters in his strip who lived in a town near Dogpatch. They were the town bums, the n'er do wells, the failures whose whole aim in life was to pass judgment on others. Their criticism and ridicule became so vehement that in time the rest of the people in the town became acutely conscious of it. "The boys down at the stable," as they were called because that's where they spent most of their time, soon set the social standards of the town. Nobody could do anything without their sanction.

Because they lived within the structure of their crummy little world, they would laugh and point their fingers at anyone and everyone who tried to be better than they were. As a result the people feared the ridicule of the boys down at the stable so much that they stopped trying. Soon everybody became bums and the town died.

In every social structure, Ann, whether it be family, town, county or state, there are "The boys down at the stable." They are the jealous ones. They are too scared to try something different. They show their ignorance by laughing at those who do. Learn to recognize them Ann, for what they are. Don't let them hurt you. It takes a certain amount of toughness to succeed. One has to rise above those who would tear you down so that they can laugh and say, "I told you so!"

There are too many of us who love you and want you to make it. I could put myself at the top of the list. You aren't going to fall flat on your face as they would have you. You are going to do a superb job. Remember this show is only a small step in the direction of greater things you will do, many of which are beyond your wildest dreams. All you have to do is want to. One of the things I like about you best is that you always give it hell for try.

The show will be a success because of you and others like you who try. There are only winners in the cast. The losers are gathered down at the stable laughing and hoping for your failure. If we could dig down deep inside them, I'm sure we'd find they want to win also, but are too scared to try, and they attempt to cover up their own failures as human beings by laughing at others. In a sense I'm sorry for them. Their guilt must make them very unhappy people.

Much love,

Hap
